Retomar la escritura / Retake the writing

Hace unos años me refugiaba en la escritura, era un escape, un desahogo.  Luego con el pasar de los años envuelta en estudios, trabajo, el hogar y la maternidad descuidé la escritura por placer (porque obviamente la escritura en la maestría y el trabajo no es tan placentera).  Pero me he propuesto (por tercera vez) retomar la escritura.  Convirtiéndola en lo que algún día fue, ese escape de ideas y sentimientos, pero esta vez le añadiré mi pasión: el Habla y Lenguaje.  


Con la creación de este blog busco dar información sobre la profesión que amo.   Esta información va dirigida a todos los padres, maestros y colegas tanto de mi isla Puerto Rico, como de otros lugares del mundo.  


Las Patólogas/os del Habla y Lenguaje son profesionales con un grado mínimo de maestría que evalúan, diagnostican y ofrecen tratamiento a pacientes con problemas del lenguaje, habla o tragado.  Pueden trabajar con una población desde infantes hasta adultos en ambientes que varían desde hospitales, centros de cuido, escuelas, asilos, oficinas privadas, entre otros.  


En mi Time Line (TL) de Twitter una colega compartió un vídeo que explica lo que hacemos los Profesionales del Habla, Lenguaje y Audición.  Aquí lo comparto con ustedes, espero lo disfruten tanto como yo.  Gracias a los colegas en España por crear el mismo. :)

A few years ago I used writing as an escape and as the years went by all of my responsabilities took most of my time and I neglected the pleasure of writing. (Because, let face it, writing essays and reports are not that pleasant).  Now I will  retake my writing and make it what it was, a burst of ideas and feelings; but this time I'll add my passion: Speech and Language Pathology.

The purpose of this blog is to share information with parents, teachers and colleagues about this facinating world.   Speech-Language Pathologist evaluate, diagnose and offer treatment to infants, adolescents and adults in the areas of Speech, Language and Swallowing disorders.  We can work in a variety of settings like schools, hospitals, skilled nursing facilites, private practice and others.

In my Twitter Time Line (TL) a colleague posted a great video explaining what we do in our field.  This video above is in Spanish, so I searched for a good one in English.  This one is made by Speech Pathology Australia, and I loved it!  Thanks for making this great video! Hope you enjoy it!
